Things are looking up! In a recent study conducted by Ernst & Young and summarized by BUILDER magazine, it appears the general consensus of the housing industry is that things are looking up. The stage is being set for expansion to resume sometime in the next 24 months. In addition, the NAHB / Wells Fargo Housing Index (HMI) rose six points in July, the largest increase in nearly a decade. Builders are preparing for an expansion and are in need of training to improve their management systems.
During the last six months, the housing industry has experienced the meager beginnings of a recovery following three years of scraping the bottom of a very severe housing recessionary cycle. This minor recovery has foreshadowed the organizational problems builders are going to face once the industry enters a robust recovery.
